In this day and age where budget travel is on the rise, more and more people are flying out of their country to explore places they’ve been wanting to visit. More airlines offer cheap tickets now (Piso fair, holiday promos etc), making our dream country reachable and attainable. So you have finally booked tickets to the country that’s been stuck on your bucket list for god knows when, what’s next? I think we can all agree that it’s the accommodation we need to work on. Can we book a accommodation as cheap as the ticket that we got or a little over that? Possible? Yes, it is.
HOW TO SCORE CHEAP ACCOMMODATION FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP (without sacrificing anything)
As soon as you book your ticket, look for an accommodation right away. This is ideal especially if it’s 5-6 months away. Chances are you will get the best deals and prices are still cheaper. This is a no-brainer tip but I will still put it up here.
Travel or booking sites often have newsletters, sign up for that and they will send you notifications straight to your email.
This is a really great way to get book an originally pricey accommodation for a discounted price. I am not really familiar with international sites but if you are in the Philippines, you may go to this site to check the top 5 buying sites.
Examples are Deal Grocers and Metro deal. The former I have used before but I booked another service. Haven’t tried the booking a hotel there but they offer discounted prices. Go check them out here: www.dealgrocer.com
Good thing about Deal Grocer is that there are no minimum purchase required. The latter is also a great site though I haven’t bought something from it. They have numerous travel deals from international to local. Check them out here: www.metrodeal.com
Another way to score cheap accommodation is download a travel booking site’s app. Take for example Agoda which offers great deals for members and if you book thru their app. Big savings and more discounts await you.
There are a number of travel booking sites out there but I find booking.com super friendly user and they have discounts and promos exclusively if you are a member. What’s more amazing is that, when you become a genius member (book thru their site several times), you unlock more promos. I also love that they give you travel guide once you book with them. Awesome, I know!
Did you know we only spent less than 3,000 Php for our 6 days 5 nights trip to Bali? I booked using booking.com. For 1,400 Php, we get to have a free wifi, a pool access, quiet and relaxing place, free breakfast (for Sagittarius Inn only), free bottled water every day, Kitchen, spacious living room with mini dining table, and even a veranda (The Studio at Seminyak)
I booked it a month before and still got it for a cheaper price. It’s not a villa, I know but it’s decent and spacious enough for 3 of us. We got our money’s worth and my friends are happy and satisfied during the whole stay.
